HIGHLIGHTED EVENTS

MANDELA DAY 2019

On the 18th of July hundreds of Durbanites descended on the Grace Family Church uMhlanga campus, to contribute their 67 minutes of service this Mandela Day!

All of the activity amounted to a total of 15 000 sandwiches, 2 000 vegetable seedlings, 300 toiletry packs, 160 school activity packs, 42 units of blood, 3 950 seed packs, 651 cupcakes and 80 kg’s of crochet yarn rolled.

Each person made their mark by icing a cup cake and placing it on the SA flag; symbolising their contribution towards building the nation.

These items were distributed to a host of organisations via our network of Non-Profit charity partners. Reaching far and wide to those in need at homeless shelters, rural schools, creches, orphanages, rural farming communities, training centres and old age homes.

All of this was facilitated through the numerous charities we partner with, including; iCare, Crossroads, Key of Hope, Rustic Manor, Summerhill House, Isinkwa Setheku, Jump Youth ministries and Blue Roof.

Thank you to everyone who got involved! You've all made a difference in our city and beyond.

The Street store 2019

On Saturday the 1st of June, 120 Grace Family Church volunteers spent a morning at the Denis Hurley Centre for the 6th annual Street Store. This dignified shopping experience included free haircuts, a foot washing station, a Sorbet nail bar, and lunch provided for the men, women, and families in need. Each person that walked into the Street Store was accompanied by their very own personal shopper. The day was a great success with 1014 people served.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated, sponsored, or volunteered at this event.
